Oral Hygiene Day celebrations (1st to 10th August 2017)

Oral hygiene day is celebrated all across India on August 1st on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. G B Shankwalkar, the doyen of Periodontics in India.
 As part of the oral hygiene day, Narayana Dental College & Hospital took the opportunity to spread awareness and importance of oral health in the community by conducting a series of programs at various locations from August 1st to 10th with a theme “DON’T RUSH WHILE YOU BRUSH”.
The program was inaugurated on 1st august at 10:00 am by Principal Dr. Ajay Reginald, Dean (Academics) Dr. Siva Kumar, Head of Dept. of Periodontology Dr.Vijay Kumar Chava and attended by the Staff and students of the institution.
At various public places (Bus stand, Railway Station & Shopping areas) pamphlets were distributed to the general public regarding oral hygiene awareness. Free samples of oral hygiene products were distributed to all patients attending Department of Periodontology. A 5 minute oral hygiene education video was played in the patient waiting area on all the days of oral hygiene program. Many competitions (e-Poster, Essay, Pencil Sketch, Quiz, Best Oral Hygiene) were conducted for B.D.S students, Interns, Postgraduates and Nursing students and the winners were awarded with certificates.
